Question by : Are electronic cigarettes safe and not unhealthy?
Since the FDA has not regulated electronic cigs yet, they are very vague in what they can say. All they can say are factual things such as it contains no tar or carcinogens, but can’t say what everyone wants to know, such as it can help one quit smoking, it’s 100% safe (other than the nicotine), and it can’t cause cancer.

So I bought one today and I really like it. Is it OK on your lungs to breathe in the water vapor? I wish the FDA would regulate this and just say it’s safe …i don’t see how it’s NOT safe, but you never know. It’s kind of scary how it’s not regulated yet.

Never tried them, never will. What a waste of electricity. I’ve never heard of them so I’m not sure. You can try google. If they’re anything like a real cigarette, they’re not worth your money. Good luck

Question by Ta C: Why does the FDA hate electronic cigarettes?
From what I understand, they are in every way an improvement to the conventional cigarette. Does the FDA want our nation’s 40 million smokers to just die with no suitable replacement for their addiction? I do disagree with marketing to non-smokers, but smokers should have easy access to such an improvement to the conventional cigarette.

I think it’s all about the money, and the FDA can make a lot of money if it becomes mandatory for electronic cigarettes to go through them.

It doesn’t ‘hate’them, your paranoia is showing. They are being sold as a medical appliance to help addition, they should damn well be able to go through trials to show they are effective before people pay good money for crap that doesn’t work.

For that would mean people were being ripped off. Good for the FDA
